To formalize a 7-year financial plan

Establish annual financial goals

Progress/Updates 1/21/08: Preparation of the budget for the next fiscal year is under way.  Department heads are currently working on their proposal.  Finance Council budget committee members will be assigned to review the various departments 4/18/08: Preliminary budget for 2008-09 has been approved by Finance Committee. It is known that this budget will need to be amended due to staffing/position changes and final school enrollment numbers. (Mary Nordstrom)

Achieve annual revenue budget

Progress/Updates 1/21/08: Encouraging use of direct deposit for contributions, as it is more consistent and cheaper than cashing checks 1/23/08: Letter with ACH form is being included with annual statements, and has been added to parish website.  3/13/08: Plans for parish festival include fundraising component 4/18/08: Revenue budget is still favorable through March - 3 quarters of the way through the fiscal year.

Establish Holy Redeemer Planned Giving awareness

Progress/Updates 1/21/08: a seminar was held last year, will wait another year or two before having another one. Focusing on direct referral marketing with one-on-one meetings. Evaluating brochure.  3/13/08: Committee has not met.

To develop a branding plan to market the parish as one unit

Create a new logo for parish

Progress/Updates 1/21/08: Resources and ideas are being coordinated to develop a logo for the parish Update  2/14/08:  Subcommittee members met with local advertising agency.  Account Executive to provide logo concept/proposal for subcommittee review by March 7, 2008.  Comments/feedback from subcommittee due by March 11, 2008.  Presentation of logo concept/proposal to Parish Council prepared and ready for meeting on March 17, 2008. Update 3/25/08:  Review of logo presentation boards by the Parish Council, HRS Teachers/Staff, and Parish Staff indicate a preference for the budded cross to best represent all locations.  Advertising Agency has been notified.  Last progress/update date:4/04/08  We have decided to use the budded cross as seen on the ends of the pews in the church and on the large crucifix as the symbol for our new logo.  The graphic designer will submit presentation boards on April 10, 2008 depicting three (3) different versions of the budded cross used in a logo based upon our feedback.  The boards will be available at the Parish Center for anyone who would like to see them.  Our goal is to have the new logo ready by May 1, 2008.  (Diane Harraghy) 4/13/08: Harvest Fest is a great opportunity to promote the new logo in print/prizes, etc.  People need to be informed on promoting and using it. (Beth Ritter) 5/20/08:  Committee submitted recommendation to Fr. Paul  5/21/08: Fr. Paul did not agree with the committee's recommendation.  He has tabled the project and may revisit in the fall of 2008. (Diane Harraghy)

Create all-parish calendar for web site

Progress/Updates 1/21/08: All-parish calendar is completed and is available on the parish web site.

To define and communicate roles and responsibilities of staff and committees

Create an org chart of committee / staff structure

Progress/Updates 1/21/08: An organizational chart has been developed and is being reviewed to clarify responsibilities and chain of command

Evaluate common meeting night for committee / council meetings

Progress/Updates 1/21/08: A common meeting night has been scheduled and will be evaluated 2/5/08: First joint meeting night for EAC/Social Concerns/Worship

To coordinate volunteer data and ministries

Develop and create an accurate parish data system

Progress/Updates 1/21/08: An HRS alumni database is being pulled together to better facilitate communications with alumni, including a newsletter and to encourage contributions

Develop a volunteer scheduling system

Progress/Updates 4/18/08: Ministry scheduling software that integrates with our parish census program has been installed. Data for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Proclaimers of the Word, and Altar Servers has been received and is in the process of being entered.
